Veterinarian
Boarding and Grooming Regulations...
For guests to receive any resort service (boarding or grooming),
you must have written proof from your family veterinarian
that your pets have had a negative stool analysis within 30
days prior to checking in (and then every 6 months thereafter),
and that all of the pet's inoculations are current for the
following diseases: yearly Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvo, Parainfluenza,
Bordetella, Bronchioseptica, and Rabies. It is a state
law that your pet have a rabies vaccine at 3 months
of age, and then yearly (or every 3 years as determined by
your family veterinarian).
Every
six months, Bordetella Bronchioseptica/Pl3 (canine cough)
vaccine is also required; however, recent evidence indicates
that vaccinating every 6 months provides much better protection
against this air-borne virus. Leptospirosis vaccine is not
required but is strongly recommended for guests of Cozy Inn,
due to the fact that we are located in a rural setting. Any
pets not current on ANY required vaccines can be refused entry
at Cozy Inn.
We
also strongly urge all guests be on a a preventative flea
and tick program, since the will be taking field trips in
the meadows and woods. If you or your family veterinarian
have any questions, please feel free to call us. We pride
ourselves on practicing preventative medicine for the protection
of all pets concerned. There will be a $25.00 charge from
CIPR for any required de-fleaing.
If
you pet is found to harbor intestinal parasites (roundworm,
hookworm, tapeworm, etc) during their stay, Cozy Inn will
apply a $25.00 de-worming charge along with veterinary expenses,
which include fecal analysis and medications.
